Madison Square Garden Tickets – MSG Featuring NCAA BB, Concerts and More
Madison Square Garden tickets are hot sellers year-round, but there's a lot to look forward to in the near future that will keep sports and concert fans pretty happy as well. The MSG has been appearing in the news quite a bit lately as new shows, tours and the college basketball schedule have been announced including dates at the world-famous venue. There's a lot coming in the near future, as Madison Square Garden already hosts games for the New York Knicks and the New York Rangers. But you don't have to be a basketball or hockey fan to be excited by the round-up of news below.
Taylor Swift rocks MSG: One of the hottest upcoming concerts is actually a pair of nights on Nov. 21 and 22 when country pop singer Taylor Swift will be making an appearance here. Swift is on the tail-end of her Speak Now Tour, which is expected to wrap up on those two nights. Being the last chance to check her out on the stage during this tour, it's expected that tickets will be selling fast and could run out pretty quickly. If you're a fan, you'd be well recommended to buy some tickets early.
Madison Square Garden announces their college basketball schedule: Sports fans, and college basketball fans in particular, will be happy to see that MSG has already released its upcoming schedule of games. A press release on MSG.com announced the 2011-2012 schedule, noting that in addition to the usual round of tourneys - the 2K Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer, Jimmy V Classic, CarQuest Auto Parts Classic - this upcoming season includes the State Farm Champions Classic, which will be making its debut at the Garden. The venue has been hosting great basketball since 1934, and it looks like that tradition isn't going anywhere.
Phish to come closer to New York with four New Year's Eve dates: Phish has always known how to gather a crowd, and their past performances at Madison Square Garden have managed to be festive affairs indeed. Gothamist reports that fans will have yet another chance to enjoy the popular jam band as they return for a sixth mult-night event for New Year's Eve. Gothamist gives just a hint of what to expect: "For four days at the end of December, you can expect the area surrounding Penn Station to be patch pants pandemonium, with desperate ticketless fans crawling through sewers to sneak into the Garden. But if you've ever wanted to buy a balloon filled with nitrous oxide from a pit bull-owning Trustafarian, mark you calendars for December 28th-31st!"
Rather than crawling through the sewers, they might want to check StubHub, but we digress.
Better eats at MSG: The New York Times ran a story recently about the evolving tastes - and taste buds - at Madison Square Garden. In the near future, you can expect the greasy stand-bys you've come to expect to be replaced with healthier, or at the very least fancier, fare. The NYT describes what you can look forward to: "Sausage Boss by Andrew Carmellini is one of four new concessions that high-end restaurateurs have created to serve mainstream food at the 43-year-old arena. Jean-Georges Vongerichten will offer Simply Chicken, Drew Nieporent will serve up burgers at Daily Burger and Jeremy Marshall of Aquagrill will open Lobster and Shrimp Roll, which pretty much describes his fare."
Sounds delish? Make sure you stop by the new concession stands and try it.
